3-Tier Dynamic Sharding System

TBURN's sharding architecture splits the network into 7 parallel execution shards, each processing transactions independently for linear throughput scaling. Network total TPS is the sum of individual shard TPS.

  • Shard count: floor(validators / 16) — currently 7 shards
  • Validators per shard: 16 with BFT quorum of 11
  • 5-lane parallel execution: Express, Fast, Standard, Complex, Priority
  • Circuit breakers active on all shards
  • EWMA load prediction (α=0.3) for adaptive scaling

Cross-Shard Communication

4-level priority queue cross-shard router with WAL-backed atomicity via 2PC protocol. Cross-shard overhead is maintained at 15%.
